Oil based over emulsion

I need to paint the coving in my lounge and have chosen a colour from the Farrow and Ball range. However the smallest Water based Emulsion is around £25.

The coving is currently painted in matt emulsion and I was wondering if it would be acceptable to buy a smaller can of their oil based Dead Flat at half the cost as this should give me sufficient for my needs.

Is putting oil based over sound emulsion acceptable?

I have heard that their paint is one of the flattest their is.

Yes, I've even used emulsion as an undercoat with no ill effects before now. I suspect modern waterbased acrylic undercoats aren't that far from emulsion in composition anyway.
