Non Thermostatic Shower Control

Just returned from the Lake District. Rented a house that was new and completed construction in June 2006.

The house had a non vented hot water system so lots of water. The shower was an above the bath job it worked from a diverter valve on the bath taps and there was no thermostatic control. You just had to adjust the bath taps re water temperature.

I thought that these days there was talk a regulation re anti scold valves. A lot of shower valves have a manual push button requiring to be pressed to get the water going over 40 C.

Is it still legal to have manual temperature controls.
