Melamine Board

Does anyone know if white melamine board is available with a wooodgrain effect. I've not found it on the Contiboard web site nor at any of my local sheds or timber yards.

Yes it is. I bought some a couple of years ago from one of the sheds. Can't remember which one though. Mine is like a bleached wood effect.

Yes it is - but you'll probably need to go a specialist supplier such as IDS (no connection with a former Tory leader!)

rather than to the usual sheds.

A long time ago, we had some bespoke bedroom furniture made which has a light ash woodgrain finish. About 4 years ago, we had an extension built which required the bedroom furniture to be re-jigged and extended - and I was able to get some material from IDS at Nuneaton (my nearest depot, but there are several others) which was a very close match to the original. I think mine is called Blonde Ash, which is a very light beige in colour, but there's also White Ash - and lots of others - on the list.

I get the impression the OP is asking about WHITE boards not 'bleached' or 'light coloured'. i.e. I presume like the woodgrained panelled doors that seem tto be popular in new builds nowadays. I do not think I have seen this material in any of the sheds but I have seen white woodgrained hardboard somewhere recently but cannot remember where if that's any good.

Thanks for your responses - I suspect that I'm looking for something that doesn't exist despite being sure that I had seen it in the past. Possibly the hardboard:-)

It does or did exist. Homebase used to sell shelf kits with what they called white ash finish. Which was simply off white wood grained melamine.
