As expected, it is quite heavy on the head, with the lighting unit in place, but it is removable. I wasn't aware these could be used without need for glasses, but yes they can. It gives a choice of eleven different magnifications, using one or two of the five lenses supplied with the unit, from 1.0x to 6.0x. Illumination from the battery powered LED part is quite good with an even spread of light. This can be flipped out a short way, to allow the light aim to be adjusted up or down to suit, or removed completely to be used as would a torch.
Bad point, apart from the weight, is that the lenses lack a cut-out for the nose, so you can end up with the raw edge of the lens, resting on your nose if the head or side clamps are not tightened up enough. The lenses are quite a tight fit in their holders, much tighter than they need to be and difficult to swap.
Other than the above, it is quite a well made and robust piece of kit and very, very adjustable.
