First cut of the year, and I've noticed that there are loads of small circular patches - as if it had been machine-gunned.
Turns out they are some sort of flat weed, which lies lower than the grass ...
I was planning on treating the lawn with a weed & feed treatment. Will this do it, or is there more ? There must be getting on for 100 of the buggers across 3 lawns (2 front, 1 back)
Lots of possibilities. Post a close-up picture of one or two of them to tinypic or wherever to help in identification.
Weed and feed usually gets broad leaved weeds.
If they are very waxy and so resistant to absorbing the chemicals you can try a spot weed killer on a stick.

I find weed and feed (actually moss kill weed and feed needed here) to be a bit light on the weed side so I have a trigger sprayer with a sprayer strength mix of Verdone which I use for spot treatment. Latex gloves on both hands, weed (or patch) gets a spray and then it is rubbed over all surfaces (reaching undersides of leaves too) to make it more effective.
This has worked for me on even the most persistent of lawn weeds but I do try to keep an eye on new growth of weeds so catch them before they fully establish.
