Does anyone here know what size the two screws holding the blades together are on these clippers? Daughter bought a set and within minutes of starting to use them one of the screws fell out into the mud and is totally lost. Measuring the other screw (very small) it's somewhere between m3 and m3.5 and 3mm thread length. I've asked in an equestrian group but don't really expect an answer from there, just hoping more technical minds can help.

Dunno, but if it's between 3 & 3.5mm it's possibly 1/8" which is 3.2mm.
That's a distinct possibilty which I hadn't considered due to the clippers being current manufacture. I'll have a rake through the tin of old screws and stuff. Thanks for the suggestion.
M3.5 is what is used in an electrical backbox to hold the faceplate on. So you can probably find a screw to test it with.
M3 is very common as well, and computer hardware is a source of small US threaded UNF screws of similar size.
We cant tell by magic what you have - but if you have vernier calipers you should be able to get the OD and thread pitch and identify what you have.
If they are of a US origin, then imperial screw sizes are still often found.

I think it was 4BA before M3.5 was adopted. I guess it could be 4BA
1/8th inch, though that's a tad over 3.5mm.(IIRC die-cast boxes changed to M3.5 and a 4BA screw could be persuaded to go in but not to come out.)
Contact the manufacturer? Ask if they could kindly stick one in an envelope?

Noone is producing new equipment with BA, which is why I discounted it
UK now uses M3.5 and the yanks use a UNF screw - can't remember which one - probably 1/8th"
