lidl multitool broken

I'm terrible at savings receipts. Lidl plus comes in handy here though, the receipts are on your phone in the app which was great when I needed to return a carpet cleaner recently.

The total purchase you made on that day will. But not an itemised bill. And it's that Lidl want to honour their extended warranty.

That's good to know.

I've bought loads of Lidl 'toys' and only had to return one - a graphics tablet and pen. Just didn't work, and neither did the replacement. So got my money back.

Taking things back is a joy isn't it? At our store at least.

I tried to cajole a member of staff into opening a till and helping me solely but no. The procedure is thus....

You queue with the defective carpet cleaner at a till. You've a letter from head office that states "give this man his money back", but no, there needs to be a debate. Eventually a supervisor is called. She reads the letter too, much more debate. "What can I tell you, it doesn't ####ing work, give me a refund!!!"

Dozens of pairs of eyes on you while folk wonder (as I often do myself trying to get through Lidl without a nervous breakdown) what your problem is and why you are holding the job up!

I like a lot about Lidl but their customer care is non existent.

When I told a petrol generator back, I had no problem at all. Perhaps it's customer attitude dependant.

Not sure about tools but I bought a desk top ?weather station? from Lidl - one of those radio locked clocks with a barometer, humidity sensors, thermometer, outdoor sensor, etc. It had a three year warranty. I had a good idea when I bought it but couldn?t find the receipt. I rang Lidl?s warranty number, they referred me to the maker in Germany ( although a UK number ). After a few checks - had I checked the batteries, tried reset etc, the just send a new one. They didn?t ask to see receipt etc or for the faulty one back.

Nope, I've worked in retail for nearly 30 years. On either side of the 'till' I *always* approach a situation such that there should be the least amount of bother for all concerned.

I haven't been in every Lidl in the land, I harbour a hope that ours is worst than most.

Buy cheap, buy twice. People just don't seem to learn.

Well.... We've approx 300 quidsworth of Bissel. It conked out just as I learned that lidl were doing a carpet washer for £70. Too good to be true? I expected it to be *some* use but it was pitiful. I wondered if we had a bad one but reviews would suggest that the machine is just naff. So i've fixed the Bissell and got my money back. Bar some time, no overall loss.

Indeed, I can afford 2 bottles of Lidl wine as against one bottle at Watrose/

Everything to do with carpet cleaning from Lidl seems to be poor. Not quite sure why - as lots of their other toys excellent value.

But waitrose adds 15% to your house price :-)

t's 6 miles away, so I doubt it.

Agree about the toys. I have several of the 20V tools and batteries, and the little boxes of screwdrivers, sockets, etc all seem pretty good to me.

Ive now had three Lidl electrical items replaced over the past 20 or so years of buying them. Each time Ive contacted them by telephone and the item has been replaced FOC without the need to return the broken one. Each time Ive gained in some way by either fixing the broken one myself and continuing using it or in the case of the last cordless drill gaining a spare battery.

As a slight aside, I bought 8 cartons of Lidl oat milk. All were bad. I phoned them up and explained I'd bought them 6 months back, had no receipt, and sent a photo of the empty cartons. They sent me a letter to claim a credit refund at my local shop.

Phoning them worth a try.

What is to say that a single figure on a bank statement was for the purchase that INCLUDED the item. I don't recall ever buying anything from the centre aisle of lidl/aldi without a basket full of other stuff.

The recent upgrade of their App excluded anyone running older versions of Android (you need V7 or later).

It's not always as clear cut as that.

It can also be buy expensively and get no better quality or reliability.

But councils add 20% to your council tax bill if they find out you leave Waitrose wine bottles out for recycling.
