Lidl cordless vacuum.

Got one of those today. Quite a powerful little unit and good value at 15 quid. Handy for giving the car a quick clean out or crumbs from the table etc. 'Bag' easy to empty.

But it came with a two pin continental charger. The handbook shows a UK 13 amps one. I don't want to just take it back for a refund, as it does what I want.

Buy a cheap British to Schuco adaptor. About a fiver, last time I bought one on the ferry. Or make an extension lead up from parts bought from your local CEF or similar for a few quid.

That fits with my comment in a different thread about wanting to buy from a British supplier! Bite the bullet, and get an adaptor. They are everywhere, even at the Post Office, of all places. Unless Lidl will give you what they should for use in this country.

That really is the point. They are obliged by law to supply such goods with either a UK plug or supplied adaptor.

I've got adaptors - but would rather have a proper UK PS.

FYI: Bought one of these Lidl vacs today and it came with a standard BS1363 wallwart. Get thee back to Lidlidl!

My new PC monitor came from Amazon with a detachable power cable with a Schuco plug. I was delighted with the discount I was able to negotiate.

I'll do that tomorrow - thanks. I'll have to have a look at another to see if it has the right plug. There doesn't seem to be 'GB' or whatever on the box - probably in the barcode.

Went back to Lidl today and they still had a lot left. One was open and had a 13 amp charger. So swapped it with the agreement of a staff guy. The chap I spoke to first said 'sorry. we'll do a refund' Seemed surprised I didn't want that but just the correct plug. If they'd all been wrong I'd just have used an adaptor. ;-)

Just bought one in Warwick today, and that's got the correct 13A charger. Sounds like yours was intended for a different market.

What languages are included in your instruction book? I've got English, Greek and German.

Same here. The pic in the instruction book showed a 13 amp plug. ;-)

I picked one up today at nottingham, uk 3 pin psu,

Not a bad little hoover, got it mainly for sucking up the mini lake the dog produces when she drinks... tried teaching her to drink from the middle of the bowl instead of the side, but she wont listen,

Not as good as my parents 18 volt bosch one, but it'll do me... cost a lot less than theirs too.

Only thing i don't like is the instructions saying it's not designed to be left on charge all the time, who's stupid idea was that, for something you want to be charged and ready to use at a moments notice, and comes with a wall mount charging dock,

Especially as it has a li-ion battery in it, it says it charges to 80% fast-ish, then the red flashing light turns green, and it trickle charges the last 20%... which is the standard li-ion charging regime (constant current then constant voltage) it should shut off when it's full, but claims it just keeps the green light on and keeps 'trickle charging' until you turn the psu off,

If you weren't the other side of the country I'd offer to swap chargers with you in case your lot got a pallet of Euro ones by mistake - mine's going back tomorrow! The bloody switch (nominally held in the off position by tape) must have got thumped so the battery's totally flat. And flat Li-ion ain't a good thing!
