LED Bulbs glow when switched off

I decided to try one, similar to this:

from the light quality (not great) and quantity (not great) there's another issue: it sometimes stays on (only a slight glow), even though the switch is off. Cycling the switch usually resolves it. I haven't seen it myself, but the wife says once or twice it came on some time after it was switched off.

Conventional bulb in the same socket acted normally.

Perhaps the switch "leaks" I could test this by popping the circuit breaker, but it always does it at an inconvenient time so I haven't tried that yet. Before I rewrite the laws of physics, anyone got any other ideas what it could be?

Double switched like a landing light by any chance? Or perhaps on a PIR?

I had this effect a while back using a low energy lamp in the bedroom light .I thought I was seeing things but someone in here explained why it happened but I can't remember what the expl was . As you say switching on and off again sorts it. Not sure what sort of LE lamp it was ..could have been a CFL or the more conventional looking one with the electronics bit above the base

Yup enough electricity might 'leak through' due to the capacitance of the extra wire, if on a three wire connection between switches, or something similar. Incidentally we are also trying one of those small screw in LED replacements for a 7 watt incandescent bulb which is controlled by a photo cell on the side, a typical 'night light'. It is plugged into one half of a GFCI in our bathroom and appears to act normally. BTW just had a thought! We have several strings of conventional 7 watt style coloured Christmas tree bulbs. I suppose it'd be possible to equip them with LED equivalents; although one will occasionally see a tree equipped with all blue lights, for example, it might look a little weird though!

I had a neon indicator plate thing on a switch to glow when turned off, which provided enough leakage current to make a CFL flicker gently but wasn't noticeable with a conventional bulb. (This sort of thing:

Perhaps I didn't make it clear, but it doesn't stay fully on. Just glows dimly (even more dim than when it's really on).

If you mean an Infrared sensor, then not that I'm aware of.

And no it's not on a two way[1]. It's in a bedroom and there's only the one switch.

[1] The corridors, which should be, aren't. There's switches at both ends but they both have to be on for the lights to come on. I'm not sure if this is problem with the wiring or the switches; I'm nervous about touching anything. But that's another story for another time.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but is it anything to worry about?
