Ladders - Sherpascopic Work Platform

Hullo.

It's time for me to buy a new ladder, so I've been searching for something appropriate for a person with a well developed fear of heights.

I came across the "Sherpascopic Work Platform" on a number of different sites. It looks ideal for me, but the price is pretty hefty (£500 plus).

anybody have one of these platforms? Can you recommend them or otherwise? Are there cheaper (but still as safe) alternatives?

Scaffolding might work out cheaper and you don't have to store it afterwards. The only time I hired a proper tower I found it a complete pain. You're always moving it and yet somehow it's always in your way.
