ISTR the majority of table saw injuries are caused by kick back. Saw Stop does nothing to alleviate this. The fitting of a riving knife goes a long way to stopping kick back Paul Mc Cann
I was astonished by the info on the woodworking website that American circular saws are not fitted with riving knives.
That's partly true - but in many cases kickback leading to hand blade contact, and it would help with that. Note also that the sawstop machine also has a proper riving knife unlike many US saws.
