OR droid made up a flying lead to connect my new BT SH2 router to my extension wiring using jelly crimps, but my extension wiring uses CAT5E solid cable and the flying lead is stranded.
PAge 15 of the TLC catalogue shows GP JC2C 2 core crimps for use with *solid* core phone cable, so presumably not really suitable for stranded or joining solid to stranded.
I might change this to a soldered connection which may or may not reinstate the previously working upstairs extension (ancient BT Relate 100 phone) to ringing correctly.
I pinched a handful of his crimps for my own use but it looks like a special pair of pliars is needed, which I don't have. Is there a suitable fudge alternative. I have a collection of needle nosed and other types of pliars.
