Have you not noticed that if you buy stuff from a trade place they tend not to come with screws, etc. Probably because they don't want to supply a range of fixings as different jobs may need different fixing anyway.
As for being torx then they are probably the best screw head you can get easily. Far better than pozi and slots. I use spax torx headed screws where I can.
