Is the price of propane/LPG for dometic heating capped?

As per the subject, is the price of bulk LPG for home heating capped? We just had our tank refilled and the price haasn't changed significantly since the last time it was filled. In fact I don't think the price has changed for quite a while.

I thought it was the price of LPG that is pushing electricity costs up.

The price of heating oil isn't regulated by OFGEM so LPG probably isn't either.

BTW, does anyone know why there is excise duty on oil for heating but not on natural gas / LPG for heating?

Given that the impoverished can't even afford the standing charge, I did wonder how cost effective it would be to have the gas and electricity turned off and get heating, cooking and lighting from bottled gas.

When the standing charge is predicted to be far more than the total fuel bill was, there must be some scope.

Of course, the real problem is the standing charge being used as a stealth tax on the poor to pay for the liberalisation of energy suppliers and all the cowboys going bust.

Cheers
