Not sure. I think my fibre runs to Haverhill, which is ten miles away.

With a copper line, the BT checker tells you which cabinet and/or exchange your line runs to, does it give any info for a fibre line?

the next door village has a house called "The Old Telephone Exchange". I suspect it became "old" when the manual switchboard closed down.

Our local public toilet, in the middle of the market square, had the slight problem that if you sat, and started to think, if someone hit the `open' button from outside too soon, the door would open.

Indeed. I assume the local exchange is fibre back to Luton. The village was an early adopter of ducted connections. Early ,90's perhaps. This seems to have delayed the installation of fibre. This lane fell below Virgins financial reward criteria so we didn't get the green ducting.

Had been until I trimmed/sawed them down.

Plusnet are keeping the job open for a few more days.
