The display leds disappear and return if you hit the skip button, a small thump on the top sometimes makes it work through without stopping or losing display.Any ideas out there is it worth repairing or is it time for a new machine all else works ok.have not removed top as yet.

Could be worth taking the top off when the appliance is switched off and looking for corroded/loose connections, or prodding them with insulated pliers while the machine is running.
