Interfacing an entryphone to a VOIP Switch

A friend of mine is in a rented building and is fed up with having to walk across the room whenever someone wants to come in.

There is a Fermax handset on the wall, looks like a wall mounted phone with a button to push to release the lock downstairs.

His VOIP switch is an Avaya IP403, which has an output on the back to drive a door entry release mechanism.

Obviously before wiring anything up (or letting anyone else do so) I would have to check that voltages etc were compatible, but does anyone know if it is likely to be possible to link both the "Telephone" side of this unit (There is a spare POTS port on the switch) and the Relay side of it into a VOIP switch?

If so, how should I proceed.

Thanks
