Hotpoint Dryer - No heat

I aqcuired this for free since mine is totally fubared, and cash is short at the mo....

It's a Hotpoint Aquarius Sensor Dryer 9346.

It turns on, tumbles, electronics all seem to work, ie you can set time or tell it what ur drying etc. Now I only got this last night, previous owner said it won't heat since he 'moved' it, whatever that means. I've never had this type of dryer before, can I assume it's condensing one? If so does it need wet stuff to dry in it to work! Sounds obvious but I've only tried it for short burst whilst empty and I can't feel any heat at all.

All looks in good condition, I've had the panels off and can't see any loose wiring or evidence of burned out thermos etc.

Suppose I should try it with a load but typically I've done all the washing early this week and dried it on the radiators which I really hate!

I'm really tempted to soak a towel but thought I'd ask her first.

Thanks

Steve

Is there a reset button at the back? I've had to "fix" a couple of condensing dryers where the overheat cut-out had tripped. It's often under a rubber bump on the back panel. I suspect the make it a sod to get to in order to punish you for letting it overheat.

My Crusader dryer, which is a basic version of the Hotpoint, used to stop heating on a reguler basis.

This was due to the thermostats in the back of the drier operating. Unfortuneatly my thermostats were all non resetable, which ment me buying a new pair of thermostats (high and low) every 6 months at approx £20 per pair, as you cannot buy single thermostats.

The cause of the dryer overheating, was due to the condensor box at the bottom not being cleaned often enough.

Since then I have bought new resetable thermostats from RS Components at a fraction of the price £2 each (check the temperature settings of the thermostats first), and cleaning the condensor more often and I have never had the problem since.

Could you please cite the part number of these components? [Recently purchased a Hotpoint Condensing Tumble Dryer - resolved to be scrupulous about cleaning the condenser ... ]

Having read the replies, I don't my dryer is a condensor! It's bog-standard looking, no trays or extra bits, but it's called a 'Sensor Dryer' model 9346.

No resettable bits I can see.

What have I got!!
