Hi Def 19:9 CCTV?.. IP based.

Will need to upgrade some CCTV equipment before long, seems that IP based is a no brainer these days seeing that wireless will be involved to link two of them into the system.

Anyone any recommendations on equipment and the supplier of same?.

Thanks:)

Recently used a couple of Vivotek IB8369 IP cameras. My use is only simple regular still frame uploads but the other facilities seemed quite good. They are fairly chunky/heavy but well made/sealed so if you have exterior location I reckon they'll survive. They are only 2 M pixel though (ie HD TV). It'll record on board and has IR illumination but not played with that to any great extent.

For interior only intruder alert. watching, recording (on board) I also have a Hik Vision DS-2CD2432F this has a PIR along with infra red illumination. This is a 3 M pixel camera (2048x1536). Not quite as friendly and configurable as the Vivotek.

Both are ONVIF though the Hik Vision only streams a low resolution image to an ONVIF app on the tablet, the Vivotek much higher. Might just be a config thing in the Hik Vsion.
