Heads up: Aldi Cable Access Kit

Which means I hope, that AU aldi will have them soon.

I bought a set some months ago "just in case" (as you do) and used it last weekend. Great bit of kit.

I bought a set a few years ago, and at the time was disappointed that they were of less use than my previous tools of choice (coat hanger and net-curtain springy thing) for short-range cable-poking ...

Until last year when I decided the house was trashed enough that I didn't mind trashing it further to install a whole bunch of extra cables (alarm, phone, ethernet, coax, two-way light switching) ... *then* they proved their value running longer distances

I snapped a couple of rods having to force them past some herringbone strutting.

I have a couple of their sets and that's happened a couple of times. Fortunately, I have always been able to retrieve the lost end.

Damn, I thought it was going to be an abseiling kit for window cleaners.

About four years ago I bought the Aldi (may have been Lidl) trestle ladder (two uprights and a trestle between), thinking it would be perfect for when I need to start redecorating. Never got round to it. Then last year I really needed to trim my cypresses along the frontage, and I remembered the trestle gubbins in the garage! Perfect! I could position it on the pavement and trim about 4 ft of tree before repositioning it. So much better than a step-ladder.

Still haven't done any redecorating, though...
