Getting round Part Pee

I think thats until the safety boys get around to issuing regs for mixing colours. I know our local hospital for one, has warning notices on all installations about not using the new colours until further notice, seems they don't trust the 3 phase colours anyway .

Somewhere like a hospital is quite likely to be using both blue and brown, as well as other colours, to indicate separate circuits for generator back-up etc.

Owain

Yes, quite likely. But the warning notices went up about two months before christmas.

Dave

Quite. For domestic wiring it's not too bad when mixed: two colours are being replaced by two new colours.

But in 3 phase it looks an absolute nightmare: particularly if it's using separate cables in conduit. One of the phase colours becomes neutral, and neutral becomes a phase. Erghh!
