George Foreman grill repair

Apr 21, 2005 5 Replies

George has packed up, doesn't get hot. Fault is a brown component in series in the element circuit. It is clamped to the underside of the grill plate, it's brown, circular about 1cm and 1cm tall with two spade tags. I presume it is some kind of thermostatic control which switches mains power off/on when grill up to temperature. Any ideas where I can get a replacement. Thanks

They're called button stats and the last time (several years back) I needed one I got it from RS, but I couldn't find them on their website

Yes I agree but what temperature? I doubt the old one would have any indication.

Argos

(sorry, couldn`t resist it)

Mortimer brought next idea :

Try Farnell's online catalogue and/or Maplins ?

The ones I bought have it printed on the side - but you might not be able to read an old one of course.
