Geberit maintenance access...

Hi all,

Going to fit one of these wall frame cistern jobs pretty soon; the kind tha= t you box in and tile over. Question is, getting access to fix possible lea= ks and whatnot in future is - it seems - only possible via a small hatch wh= ere the flush buttons go. Is that really sufficient by itself??

Ta.

Just. But if it's a big problem you may have to dig it out of the wall. Since they all have Torbeck type valves the most common problem is grit in the water supply blocking the valve so that it fails to turn off after a flush. Fixed by dismantling and cleaning the valve which us just possible via the letter box. Long term fix is to use a strainer on the cold water feed.
