gas hob supply pipe size

For a typical 5 burner 700mm gas hob, is 15mm pipework for say 10 metres usually sufficient ? This gets me below the suspended ground floor where 22mm can easily be run if required (for another 8 metres perhaps). I know a gas fitter who will install this, but I need to consider the runs. Thanks, Simon.

Well, I've decided to use 22mm pipe since it is future proof if I ever want a boiler in the kitchen. Simon.

15mm will be enough for gas hob, best to put an isolation tap prior, for any maintenance etc

18 metres of 22mm copper is not very likely to be able to supply a boiler (especially a combi) and a five burner hob. Get your gas fitter to advise on pipe sizing for that kind of run with a gas demand of potentialy in exess of 4 cubic meters per hour

The other factor with a large cooker like this is the minimum room size and ventilation required, which will be given in the fitting instructions.

I'll see what he says. The total gas appliances will be for a combi (not sure of the power offhand), 2 gas fires (not really used), and a 5 burner gas hob. Maybe 28 or 32mm will be required, or upgrading of the part before the supplies all split. It might be easier to say there will never be a boiler in the kitchen and use 22mm for the hob. As a matter of interest, anyone know the outlet size from the meter itself ? I have a short external pipe from the meter to the house that looks like 22mm to me, but it could be more. I guess the point is - you have to consider the whole gas installation. Cheers, Simon. Simon.
