Gas Boilers

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a view on the relaibility of a 'British/Scottish Gas Potterton Precision High Efficiency Boiler'?

Or, for that matter Potterton boilers in general over the last few years?

TIA JonH

My 1999 Potterton Suprima 80 installed by Scottish Gas has been very unreliable - several changes of PCB and other footling faults which cause it to breakdown in cold weather. The Scottish Gas repair man last time recommended a Worcester Bosch 24RI - reliable he said. The Suprimas have been notorious.

Once they've had one of Geoff Radens re-furbed PCBs therein they are a lot better...

When someone comes to me and asks for a BG, Wickes or whatever other badged up bag of s**te boiler, my heart sinks -

poorer quality than the original and uncertainty about parts since they are not always properly catalogued

Buy s**te, live with it
