So that was not careless reasoning - it was not far off the mark in millennial terms. No one then knew the cost of fracking.
And EROEI is now falling sharply - its not at the point yet (as it is with renewable energy) that it takes more energy to produce than you get out of it, but its getting closer
Whereas with uranium we now know that the cost of it is not really an issue - the EROEI is *stupendous*. Even if - say - Britain had to extract it from seawater it would not impact energy costs as much as a half p a unit.
