Frozen Gutters

Not sure if this is a local (south Sheffield) curiosity, but my and nearby neighbours' gutters are full of frozen thawed snow. Some have large icicles as they've overflowed. This has happened in the past 24 hours. Just waiting for someone's gutter to collapse!

About 5 years ago this happened too with loads of Sky dishes getting hit by the gutters and needing replaced. I must have replaced at least a dozen.

Not just you, Apparently its happening in mine yesterday, but since mine are pretty well secured and are plastic, no issues other than drips. Some houses round here though have cast iron ones mounted on dodgy old wood, so I'd expect sooner or later a bit of a problem. Indeed it was a section dangling many years ago after a cold snap that made me get a man in to replace them. Apparently the board the brackets were on was well rotted or in some places got at by bird droppings and two of the gutter pieces had nasty cracks in the cast iron which had it appeared at some time been repaired using bitchumentn ! We've had icicles for days, decided to do somthing about the ones in the carport dripping on the logs and the associated blocked gutter today. The others can stay, they are just to big and solid to remove.
