Fridge Thermostats

The thermostat on my kitchen fridge has failed yet again (only "continuously on" rather than the usual "continuously off"). It must only have lasted a few months, which peeves me, although they're only a few pounds on eBay.

But ... the replacements all seem to be set too cold, such that they freeze the contents of the fridge, which is a larder fridge without a freezing compartment, rather than just keeping it cold.

I've looked at things like this;

Cold out -23c, Cold in -14.4c, Warm in +2c. That seems way too cold to me.

And this;

No details, but it says suitable for fridges without a freezer compartment.

They all seem to be Ranco VC1s or K59s - the original was a K59.

So, what should I order?

K59 or VT9 would be the correct one. Are you sure that you have got the end of the capillary firmly clamped onto the evaporator plate?

Then again a VX0 is also used on larder fridges............ Distant memory says VX0.
