Fridge Freezer issue

Got a Samsung model RSA1SHPN American style FF that keeps running more than it should do and eventually the fan in the freezer compartment starts clattering against the frost that has built up.

I've done a power defrost (twice) and then it seems OK fror a couple of days then the compressor keeps running on and on and later the fan starts clattering again. There is no error codes flashing in the display. Modern FFs seem to have circuit boards, multiple sensors and are more complicated than I expected. I'd appreciaste some advice before I start ordering spare parts and getting stuck into pulling panels out.

Whenever this has happened to me it was because the freezer or fridge door was not closing fully allowing warm humid air to get inside.

Check your door seals first before doing anything else.

Repeated freeze up of the evaporator, usually due to failure of the defrost cycle. Can also be down to door seal failure or being left open/ajar.

He did have a bit of a corner on the market. He had quite a lot of specialised camera and stand gear. I met him once, as he used some cameras made by the company I then worked for.
