I like the look of te foldg telescopic truck with PNEUMATIC wheels. That makes a huge difference on anything but ultra smooth surfaces

Good point, but on the flip side they can go flat / perish / puncture etc. Also at 12kg I think it might a be a bit much for Mum to handle in general terms (I was thinking they could put one of the ones that fold nearly flat in the back of the car and they are only 4kg etc).

Good price though, considering.

I have a rigid sack barrow with solid nylon wheels and (as you say) that is fine as long as you are on a solid marble floor! ;-)

Just bought one from Slingsby, around £45. Solid wheels, collapses to half height with a folding iron. Good for use with a 35Kg loudspeaker/amplifier on it.

Pffft! my £12 Aldi one has moved Washing Machines,Fridges,Cookers and sacks of rubble and is still in order and thats not a lie.

of this type I have used have a habit of the wheels folding back, particulary on uneven ground.

Depending on what you mean by "stuff" have you considered one of the folding box type? This might be better for trundling tools etc about than a sack truck. The wheels are small though and on pea gravel get jammed...

B&Q have a nice folding trolley for £15 bought one last week.

Yes., We bought the Aldi one not because we needed it but because we loved the design.

Several of our family has bought one since after seeing ours. It's superb.

Yes, and I have one Dave but in this instance (for Mum) the sack barrow design would be most suitable. In fact I popped in on my way home tonight and carried a fairly large (but luckily empty) concrete tub from the front of their house to the back and moved another plant from her lean-to to the front of the house. Luckily for the last job we used a low 4 wheeled truck but it still involved lifting said plant on and off again. I think a sack barrow would have removed the need to have done the lifting bits?

caught up fairly easily. I think the ally (especially as they are so light) folding sack barrows are probably the best of all worlds. I have another sack barrow with small castors up at the handle end and that's handy for shifting and holding engines etc.
