Faulty Thermostatic radiator valve

A thermostatic valve on the radiator in the spare roomappears to have failed.It will turn without any resistance, and the radiator will not warm up. Theother radiators in the system are working OK. Unfortunately the spare room iswhere the computer is, and I spend up to three or fours hours a day in thatroom.Other than calling in my local plumber, what are my options? Is it possiblefor an unsilled person to change the valve without having to drain down thesystem?Peter--The email shown is false. The last one I fixed that had no heating it was a broken lock shield valve and not the TRV.

I took my courage in both hands and hit it with a hammer 8 or 9 times, and lo and behold it worked and the radiator warmed up. So thanks to you all, and also thanks to the Christmas Fariy. Peter
