I have noticed in my shopping about for an exterior cottage style window that different manufacturers use very similar codes i.e. wc313cc and c313cc. Does anyone know where these codes originiate - is there some European standard? Cheers.
Exterior window codes - standardised?

There is no standard coding for window styles - HOWEVER -
Price lists are created, orders are processed, factory production documentation produced, and invoices generated by computer software. A range of packages is available, often supplied to fabricators by the company that extruded the PVCu profile used in the manufacture of the windows. There are only a few software programmes available and some are very popular and widely used. It is the software that contains the designations for a window style.
So your wc313cc is probably the label for style 13 of a 3 panel window and will be used by all fabricators using Windowmaker (or whichever) software package.
Thanks Ziggur
