Where do I start? SWMBO wants an extension and I am not so sure.
We need facts - who should we go to who will have experience of planning, building control, and costs so that we can then decide if it is feasible to continue.
Getting a builder doesn't seem right as they have a vested interest in getting the job and may not err on the side of caution with planning requirements.
I would like to know if it is feasible before getting quotes.
An architect?
If it's a simple extn and you know what you want an architectural technician may do, they are perfectly competent at drawing plans but may be less experienced at getting things past planners.
You need plans to get planning and building control approval. You can then take those plans and specification to builders and ask them to quote against the plans and spec.
