The purpose of the solid state battery, is to get rid of the "organic fuel" electrolytes used in regular lithium batteries.

It does not "guarantee" anything, but it is potentially a safer alternative. The last one I read about, was still a factor of five off on charging cycles. They might still manage to fix that (as one battery researcher has an electrode developed which has been through a hell of a lot of charge/discharge cycles compared to regular batteries).

Any companies that announced a certain model year, they would be using solid state batteries, I'm not aware of any of them shipping something :-)

Here is a recent battery announcement, showing that the more things change, the more they remain the same.

If you write enough of those P.R. releases, who knows that by accident, one of them could be real.
