Electrical problem - Circuit board in extractor hood keeps blowing

My cooker hood is a 3 speed unit, with the push switches connected to a small circuit board.

One of the tracks to the on/off button has broken 3 times in as many years from what looks like heat (too much current?) - there is a little scorch mark when this happens.

I could not find any obvious shorts anywhere, so have resoldered the track. The latest time the track was too short so I added a bit of copper wire to make the join. But this seems to have gone again.

Any ideas what could be causing this track to keep blowing? The fan works OK in normal use, and is rarely used on the high setting.

Vibration from the fan ?

Mechanical shock as the spring loaded buttons are released when a new button is pressed?

Could you wire the track out completely end to end, instead of patching over the break? Repairs like this tend to recurr because the extra solder and wire stiffens the joint so the track breaks the first place it is not supported instead.

Probably nothing more than damage due to usage. Could you scrap the varnish off the tracks and solder some wire over the entire length of the track perhaps, to help reinforce it?

They sometimes take a track when a lamp blows other than that its the switching speeds, I used to change these all the time on mfi hoods.

This is an mfi model!

I just wanted to be sure that there was no major problem that was causing this.

There is no track left on the board now to solder to, so I'll have to use a complete piece of wire
