The PIR will normally have 3 or 4 connections depending on if it is itself earthed (if its not, you must still provide earth continuity through to the lamp fitting)

Typically there will be a live and neutral in, and then a switched live out. You need to connect the lamp between neutral and switched live. The choice of cable will depend a bit on where the various bits of the setup are.
