Hi I have a problem with a trip swich tripping when I plug my pond pump into on socket but not when I plug it into another on the same trip. However I can plug other items in without a poblem. I have checked the pump and there does not appar to be a problem here.

I wonder if the pump has low resistance to the earth wire, but not to the casing, and the "another on the same trip" socket has a faulty earth connection.
I would suggest that both the pump and the socket(s) need testing by someone with the appropriate test instruments and knowledge of how to use them.
