I've got a rubber extension cable bought as part of a Black and Decker drill plus tool box kit about 50 year ago. It's still OK. Only use it for outdoor Xmas lights now.

Not quite the same. However here is one for you that you might like.
I got a call out at 6pm on a Saturday afternoon about a village hall.
It's 40 minutes away and all I have been told is "half the power is off can you come round". Now the guy that called me is very inexperienced in electricity was not at the hall. The people in the hall at the time had called him and he called me.
I thought "power cut on one phase". I have worked there before and I know it is 3 phase, newish and in good condition.
Although the money is good on a call out it was Saturday night and I have no wish for a village hall to get an unnecessary bill and I also fancied a pint or two down at the local.
So I Googled the details of the shop next to the village hall and called them.
They were also without electricity.
It was a simple power cut. 3 minutes of Googling and one quick phone call saved them a few quid.
Masterful :)
