Dimmer suggestions

Having just had a bulb failure (G9 Capsule) destroy a MK Dimmer, I am pondering a better solution. The module in the 2 gang dimmer is MK 42880PL -

250 Watt. - presumably I could buy a one way and fit it into the brass two gang - but ideally I would like recommendations for something that isn't going to die if a bulb fails.

Any recommendations?

Took a quick look this morning - didn't see one. Should there be one?

Have you checked the dimmer's internal fuse?

Not all, but many have one...

As to brands, I have not had any problems with the Varilight ones that TLC do so far.

In mine it was a tossup between a PCB track and the thyristor... ;-)

get 400W units. They seem to have lasted for me..

Dimmers are vulnerable to this. Your best insurance is to go for a higher rated dimmer, such as 500w. Fuses usually dont save silicon devices, though they sometimes will.
