Stayed in a hotel earlier this week, which had a newly refurbished bathroom. Thought "Maybe I could have something like this to replace my own, tired, 25yr old one".
Went to a very blingy bathroom showroom, deserted apart from two bored staff who immediately realised I was never going to buy anything, so passively agressively ignored me, and the fittings to clone that hotel bathroom were about £7k, plus another £7k to spend two days fitting it.
Fully booked until next August, they said.
Meanwhile, back at B&Q or Victorian Plumbing (sponsors of the snooker on TV), the same fittings appear to be about £1k for a DIY-er.
