D-I-Y innersoles

Some recently bought work boots are a bit on the big side. Is it still possible to buy just one or two of those cork floor tiles anywhere? Since I could cut them down to act as inner soles?

Also I'm just wondering if there is anything else about, that I might use? Since shop bought innersoles seem extremely thin and a bit small even the largest size available.

Innersoles with printed guidelines for trimming to shoe sizes are available on ebay. I use them in my work boots which have to be a size bigger to accommodate a bunion on one foot.

Aldi do *outstanding* inner soles -- when they have them in!

As a runner, I always saved the inners from my shoes when the shoes themselves got too old: properly formed, comfortable, insulated, and with a life at least twice that of the shoes. Fantastic for putting in too-big footwear, including (what a great discovery that was!) wellies.

Odour Eater type innersoles? I've recently seen some "memory foam" innersoles on sale in the pound shops which look to be relatively thick.

I just wear thicker socks with my safety work boots

When I was involved with Army .. used to be fairly popular to take a sleeping mat ... 10mm thick closed cell foam, and cut insoles out of that.

You can get no end of insoles here:

For my rather odd feet, I now always use Diaped ultrasoft diabetic inserts. Absolutely excellent for my issues.

They, or their Algeos parent, also sell no end of specialist insole materials in numerous colours, thicknesses, resiliences, etc. and glues, wedges, to form almost whatever you might want. This translates to DIY because you then have to cut them out for your needs.

Lidl also regularly have gel and other insoles - think I saw some on the shelf the other day.
