Creda Simplicity Drier Cuts Out

Greetings,

Recently our Creda Simplicity T620CW condensing drier (dryer?) cuts out after around a minutes operation. It will then allow normal operations to continue after being left to rest a while.

My immediate suspicion is that there is some kind of thermostat problem, although when the door is opened the clothes do not appear to be overly warm. Can anyone give me some assistance in diagnosing this (i.e. checking circuits, etc.)?

I've seen replacement thermostats for sale from =A313.31, but would like to confirm this is the problem before splashing out. Also, does anyone think it's likely that this could be a known problem component as the thermostat seems to be the most widely available part.

Many thanks, Jim

Might be the safety overheat stat, though they tend to be one shot devices. Check the air ducts and heater elements for build up of fluff...

Cheers. I had the sides off and have cleaned out all the fluff, but it still fails. Can you explain what you mean by 'one shot devices'?

Many thanks

From inside the ducts rather than just inside the machine.

They work like a wired fuse. Once blown due to over temperature they need to be physically replaced, don't use a soldering iron...
