Anyone done this? I need to make a hole (approx 3-4" dia) through an outside wall to fit a ventilation grill. The outside skin is pebble- dashed, though. Any tips as to how best to proceed?

Fit the core drill to the machine, hold the pilot against the wall, pull trigger and push.
Do it in both directions. Assuming you need accurate positioning on the inside, do this first and once the pilot hole is through, go to the outside. You might need to knock off a few pebbles which intersect with the core drill circle.
