Copper pipe - disposal of

Finally the new central heating system is installed and the old central heating system is sitting in the yard. I am planning to take all the copper pipes to the scrap merchant and what I'd like to know is

How 'clean' does it need to be? Should I remove all the plastic clips? Should I remove all the brass fittings? Will the scrap merchant want the brass fittings too?

Take the plastic clips off and if you can take off the brass. The scrap merchant will take the brass and the copper. you will get a better price if they are separate. They wont take the plastic clips. If you can take the old boiler as well. Not the male type.

And don't whatever you do leave them unattended anywhere or else they'll be away.

Some people think copper is the new Gold....

Doesn't matter.

It would be better but not important.

Not unless you can be bothered.

Yes.

It all goes as Cu scrap.

Nice to see you, Anna!

Worth taking any old electrical cable, CG pumps etc surprising how it all adds up , its cash in hand and you are doing your bit for recycling etc. Robert
