Yes. Obviously, position it well away from splash/spray areas. If the house is subject to Part M building regulations, I have a vague recollection there are requirements on it being accessible to someone who is disabled.

If it's more than 2-3M cable length away from the meter, you'll need a separate switchfuse at the meter.

I guess I had better check with BC that they are happy about the position.

ITYM part M... If so (IIUC) it is only a requirement that you make any new stuff in the place no worse than what is already there.

A new CU would come under part P anyway since it is not a "minor work"

Worth asking... but ought to be ok.

Should be OK, provided it won't conceivably get splashed and there's enough room down there.
