Concrete on Concrete

Hi

I've got a fairly large drive, most of which is concrete, but it looks unsightly because it's been laid at different times over the years.

Other that looking bad, it's in sound condition.

Rather than dig it all up, can I ;

a) Lay concrete slabs over the top with a suitable bonding agent.

or

b) Skim over with a layer of new concrete say 40mm thick with a suitable bonding agent.

c) Strip the surface with a scabbler and skim it.

d: tar it (no I dont mean tarmac)

Hi Rob

Now there's an idea! That would give a great finish for new concrete to bond to.

Re skimming. Do you mean just making up some formwork & laying the new concrete on top of the old? Any special mix or technique?

Just a quck check - the drive does not come up to a wall of the house does it?

If it does you may not be able to raise it because it may then come above (or too near to) the DPC in the house wall.
