Car trim clips

Anybody got a source of decent quality trim clips for cars? The kinds that hold various bits of trim on like wheel arch liners, undertrays, boot plastics, etc. I bought a set from Amazon but they turn out to be made of cheese - they just snap leaving the stem in the hole, then now you have two problems.



Toyota want at least £1 per clip which is a bit much, and it would be nice to have a set to draw upon. Some of them have a centre that pops or screws out, but every location seems to use a different clip.



Searching found vehicleclips.co.uk but who knows if they are cheesemongers?



(I might look into 3d printing my own, but suspect they'll be equally cheesy)

Ahh... you mean the actual clips, not the pliers to extract them without breaking them ... sorry can't recommend any clips

I picked up one of these in Lidl a while back

(but ISTR it was around a fiver ?)

and used some of them to fix the undertray on my Focus - nothing has fallen off it yet

Sadly I cant find any trace of it on the Lidl web site, but ...

The usual problem is when you come to remove it, you can't pull the clips out like the OEM ones, the cheesy ones just snap.

That last set looks similar to the cheesy ones I have. At least with Lidl you get reliable not-bottom-of-the-barrel quality. Annoyingly I think I saw those in Lidl at the time but wasn't in need at that point...

Yes, I've used them quite a lot over the years, particularly in my case for wire, crimps and similar stuff for use on our little canal boat. They are generally OK on quality and delivery.

Thanks. They appear to me more aimed at classic cars with Proper Metal Fasteners, rather than the plastic found on modern cars - they stock exactly one kind of plastic push-fit fastener. However they look handy for upholstery if I ever need to do that, so bookmarked for then.
