I thought this was going to be about builders lines. Like "any chance of a cup of tea" or "it's gonna cost yer".

The C-D ones are nice and thin, can be pulled tight, but if you have to tie them, the knot can be a bit big.

Don't buy the cheap braided polyester ones as the line does not stretch so can't be pulled tight. It also kinks and tangles easily, and does not wrap on the line pins/pegs very well without coming undone.

Cotton ones can be spliced nicely if broken - no knot. But may rot quicker. Good for chalk lines
