bringing marble colour back?

Jan 22, 2007 4 Replies

I have a polished marble surface in our bathroom which is looking old and tired. Anyone know the best way to bring the colour, contrast and shine back? Thanks Eddy

Hi,

you could try v fine wet+dry paper (P400 then P800 then P 1200) followed by Tcut

worked on a carrera marble mantlepiece of mine.

as ever, test on a concealed bit first to check for discolouration

Clear shoe polish and a drill buffer wheel pad.

don''t think the polish will do a darned thing.

except put a wax surface on. You need fine abrasive first..T-cut, metal polish, jeweller's rouge, valve grinding compound..

Once the surface has a good sheen, then a lithofin product will help seal it and keep the colour contrast hight.
