Break at foot of soil stack

Jul 29, 2009 2 Replies

Hi all. A couple of years ago when I had the yard paved, the soil stack was found to be an inch or so short so the stack barely reached the underground whats-it. The guys then just applied a mortar collar that has now broken. Should I replace the section or slap a bigger collar of mortar on it?

The bottom of the soil stack in the back yard has broken. The stack is 110mm pvc standard stuff.

Thanks.

Replace the bottom bit with a long-enough length of pipe, any plumbers merchant will have adapters with flanged rubbery ends to go into the underground pipe.

Thanks.

I will probably move the toilet in the near future and the new distance from the stack will be longer. Is there a min or max angle of fall from the wall outlet position?
